PRIVATE Transportation

Private transfer from Buenos Aires: Forget about long picking ups through the Hotels of the City in a bus with 20 people more. We will be at the door of your apt. or Hotel at an exact pick up time and in a direct and smooth trip to the Estancia El Ombú.

Then your driver will be availabe at the Estancia at any time you prefer to return to Buenos Aires.

GAUCHO’S LAND

THE MOST TRADITIONAL AREA: The people at this area is the most important gaucho community of Argentina: the oldest gaucho Festival, the most important gaucho novel has been writen here, Rodeos, live folckloric music every weekend… everybody proud of the gaucho culture.

HISTORICAL RANCH

The Historical working ranch: At El Ombú, Argentine tradition is lived every day. The gauchos, true men of the countryside, share their activities and customs with the visitors. The 300 hectares surrounding the main family house, an italian style villa built in 1880, are in full agricultural production and cattle breeding, inviting guests to explore an authentic ranch.

HORSEBACK RIDING

Gauchos´ horses in the Pampas: The Gaucho style of the Horseback ride is a unique way of being immerse in the Pampas. With the help of a gaucho you will know about the “Caballos Criollos” and the special saddlery used for riding. It will be a very special way of feeling like the legendary gaucho.

– Visit to the gaucho town San Antonio de Areco on your own: The driver will leave you at the center of  the town and you will have near 80 minutes availables for exploring in a walking tour on your own. Main square, Parish San Antonio, some gaucho bars, silversmith and leather workshops and the chocolate factory.

– and Full Day at the Estancia El Ombu de Areco: reception w/empanadas & drinks, horseback/carriage ride, argentine barbecue lunch with drinks, live folcloric music, gauchos´ demonstration with horses

Where is the experience located?

The Gaucho Town San Antonio de Areco is just 1.5hs far from the City of Buenos Aires.

Then the Estancia El Ombú is just 15 minutes from the Town, and finally your way back to Buenos Aires will took about another 1.5hs ride in the highway. Close enough for a day trip, far enough to feel truly immersed in nature.

How long do tours last?

We offer pick ups at 8:15am with drop off at approximately 5:45pm in Buenos Aires.

But as you will have your own private transportation: you can choose your own schedule, shortening a little bit your visit to our gaucho town or the stay at the Estancia.

Is this suitable for families or beginners?

Absolutely! Our horses are calm and well-trained. Children as young as 6 can ride (with parental supervision). We tailor activities to all ages and skill levels. Vegetarian/vegan meal options available upon request.

What should I bring?

  • There is no dress code, just comfortable clothes (layers recommended)
  • Closed-toe shoes or boots and jeans if you are going to horseback riding (you can change at the Estancia)
  • There are towels at the Estancia for the swimming pool
  • Sunscreen, hat/cap, sunglasses
  • Cell phone with whatsapp (if possible, just in case)
  • Cash is convenient if you want souvenirs or tip (optional)

Do I need horseback riding experience?

Nope! The are near 80 horses at the ranch, so the gauchos will match you with a horse suited to your level/experience. Beginners receive a safety briefing and walking-pace introduction. Advanced riders can request faster rides if the weather/floor are ok.

How do I book?

Easy! Visit our pre-Booking Form — select your date, group size, and send. We will answer via email with program, details and how to pay. Last-minute bookings? Call or WhatsApp us — we often have space!

What if it rains?

The Gaucho Experience is not cancelled in case of forecasted rain or rain: there are several enclosed spaces at the gaucho town San Antonio de Areco: bars, parish, workshops. And at the ranch every activity is adapted or delayed according to the weather conditions: it counts with many enclosed comfortable spaces and some four wheel drive vehicles. Some of the activities and demonstrations can be delayed, modified or cancelled because of heavy rain, for safety reasons.

Can I bring my pet?

The Town and Ranch are pet friendly, but please let us know about the details of your pet and we will let you know if the characteristics are able for the transportation.
